Photo Exhibition
On the occasion of the commemoration of the 350th anniversary of the first permanent French settlement in the Gaspé Peninsula, here in Barachois, the BADC invites you to an exhibition of photos selected by the jury* of the Barachois, our village and its barachois Photo Contest held in early 2023.
We invite you to explore our village and its barachois through the eyes of passionate photographers who have captured the exceptional beauty of our part of the world. You will be able to admire the landscapes, the fauna, the flora as well as the human activities which make our village and its barachois amazing and unforgettable places, to be discovered throughout the seasons.
We warmly thank all of the participants who submitted their photos, each more inspiring than the next.

* The jury members made their selection using anonymized copies of the 100 photos submitted. First, they evaluated the photos individually using a scoring grid. Subsequently, they met to finalize the selection of 36 photos for the exhibition and award prizes to 6 of them.

The jury of the Barachois, our village and its barachois contest is made up of people from different sectors of activity in the region.
Mandate
Select the photos for the exhibition and decide which photos will be awarded a prize.
The jury will award the following prizes:
• Landscape: Photography book The Gaspe Peninsula: Land on the Edge of Time; Le Nordet gift certificate; NCC Metallic bottle; Musée de la Gaspésie membership card
• Fauna and Flora: Birds of the Gaspé Peninsula list with detailed comments (in French); Club des ornithologues de la Gaspésie (Gaspé Birdwatchers Club) membership card; NCC Metallic bottle; Musée de la Gaspésie membership card
• Human Activities: Nath & compagnie gift certificate; Barachois de Malbaie cap; Musée de la Gaspésie membership card
• Drone: Gift from the Barachois and Area Development Committee, Guide to Birding Sites on the Gaspé Peninsula; Musée de la Gaspésie membership card
• Youth: Visit to Bonaventure Island with the Bird Watchers Club; Café des couleurs gift certificate; Barachois de Malbaie cap; Musée de la Gaspésie membership card
• Jury’s Special Award: Percé Géoparc gift certificate, Musée de la Gaspésie membership card
These prizes will be awarded at the opening of the exhibition in June 2023. Date to be confirmed.
Visitor’s Award: Gift from the Barachois and Area Development Committee; Photography book The Gaspe Peninsula: Land on the Edge of Time
This price will be announced at the end of the exhibition. Date to be confirmed.
